Caye Home Furnishings, LLC acquired the rich history of the Stratford Company in 2002. Founder of the company and a pioneer in the furniture industry, Morris Futorian began producing Stratford products in 1948 in New Albany, Mississippi.

Once known as the Futorian Company, the Stratford Company established a system of mass producing custom upholstered furniture and became the leader in modernized furniture manufacture. Thus, the Stratford system of mass production revolutionized the furniture industry. Caye Home Furnishings continues the high quality standards of producing Stratford Furniture.

Stratford’s innovation in the industry allowed the company to gain recognition in the area of motion furniture. Motion furniture became an important segment in the market. The maker of the first reclining chair subject to mass production and mass merchandising, Stratford was honored with the International Home Furnishings Industry Innovator Award. Further, the Stratolounger was the first reclining chair to receive the prestigious Good Housekeeping Seal. Stratford continued to achieve success in motion furniture, influencing the industry by producing sofas and loveseats with reclining mechanisms as well as recliners and sofa beds smartly styled as stationary furniture.  Caye proudly continues that sixty-year history.
